FRIDAY 19 FEBRUARY

Morag's donated art materials

Morag and Michelle are clearing their mum's house at the moment, and came across a box of art materials. They have kindly donated them to the art room for all to use.

Michelle's drawing, Robert's found photocopy.

Michelle's drawing of Charles Strachan is coming along nicely. Robert found the photocopy of a toddler in naval dress lying in his back garden. We're doing some detective work to find out who the nuatical nipper may be...

MUM'S PHOTOS

My mum took a couple of photos in the art room today. Making sure to get her wee boy in the shot!

TUESDAY 16 FEBRUARY

Tuesday 16 February

Tuesday morning. A good turnout. Tom and Jim were here prompt. Robert, Morag and Michelle followed, along with another Michelle, who had heard about the art classes from her mum, who had seen a flyer in the bowling club. Even better, Michelle lives right opposite the Eco-House, so has no excuse for poor attendance! Stuart, who attends my Monday class at the Tryst, also popped round for a coffee and a browse of the internet. He saw one of Nicola Atkinson's paintings on the wall of the Eco-House and was interested to see more of her work. Check out Nicola's work HERE.
My mum and dad popped round to the art room for a nosey. My mum took a few photos of the room which she has promised to send me now that she is computer friendly. My folks found plenty to talk about with the assembled students.

Meanwhile, more photos and artefacts are being handed in to the Eco-House. Former Inchkeith Drive resident, Gary Philp, handed in a wallet full of photos. An array of hideous hairstyles and heinous denims were on show in this collection of priceless old photos. Thanks Gary. Gary himself may be the one responsible inspiring for Simon Cowell's fashion aberrations.(see below)

TOM ON THE ROAD BRIDGE

Across to the Forth Rail Bridge

Looking South from the North Tower

Tom Matson brought along a couple of snaps from his stint spent working on the Forth Road Bridge in the 1980's. Not many folk get these views, taken from the North Tower. Turns out both Tom and Robert  worked on the bridge at the same time. They exchanged a few tales of the characters from their bridge days. Small world, eh?
