The Skids. Dunfermline's most famous punks, return home this week with a couple of gigs at the Alhambra theatre. Part of the Celebrating Fife 2010 events programme, Skids frontman Richard Jobson is in Dunfermline all week to talk about his life and work. Find out more HERE.
Above is an article from Woodmill High School magazine featuring the band in their prime.

COUNTRYSIDE RANGER VISITS THE ECO-HOUSE

Lyn outside the Eco-House

Lyn Strachan, the local countryside ranger, based at Townhill in Dunfermline, popped by the Eco-House to discuss the small area of ground surrounding the house and what we can do to attract local wildlife. We agreed that the space right outside the art room windows would benefit from the introduction of some bird feeders and some hanging pots/baskets from the surrounding fences. Hopefully we'll get to work on this next week. Thanks Lyn!

MACKIE PLACE

Found this image featuring my very first Scotland strip. The Ally Macleod era, I think. 'We're on the march wi Ally's army, we're goin tay the Argentine!'
..and another couple of snaps outside the flats with my mum, dad and brother.

WOODMILL HIGH SCHOOL PUBLIC ART PROJECT

With the assistance of Mrs Powton and Mr Adams from Woodmill High Art department, I have started a Project with 3rd year art students aimed at producing a banner for the skate park in Abbeyview. Today we started by taking a load of snaps around the centre of the estate. It was a glorious morning, perfect for some striking photography. I look forward to seeing the student's work. I managed to take a couple of snaps myself..

We ended up along at the Eco-House thawing out. This was the first time that Mr Adams and the students had seen inside the house. A box of Cadbury's chocolate fingers and a packet of Hobnobs seemed to ward off the hypothermia and everyone was ready to head back to school for the afternoon.

ROBERT'S GALLERY

Prolific, self-taught, highly motivated. The epitome of the outsider artist. Robert asked if I wanted to take a look at some of his work along at his micro-gallery/front room. Brilliant. This man never stops. This man is 85..

CAROLYN'S WORK FROM HOME

Carolyn popped by the classes today for the first time. She brought a few acrylic studies to show me what she's been up to...

Peter Matson's Headstone

Further to Tom Matson's story about his Great-Great-Grandfather, local stonemason and contributor to many iconic landmarks, here we have said artisan's headstone (above). Crafted by his own fair hand in preparation for his own demise.

Tom's Stained Glass Work

Tom brought some examples of his other endeavours (above). A man of many talents!
